A botanical art exhibition featuring native plants of Canada from coast to coast.

Countries around the world are celebrating the earth’s precious plant diversity by creating exhibitions featuring plants indigenous to their home regions.

Art of the Plant is Canada’s contribution to this simultaneous worldwide botanical art exhibition, a project initiated by the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA). The other countries participating are: Australia; Bermuda; Brazil; Chile; China; Costa Rica; France; Germany; India; Italy; Ireland; Japan; Mexico; Netherlands; New Zealand;  Russia; Scotland; Southern Africa; South Korea; Thailand; United Kingdom; and United States.

All Canadian artists are eligible to submit entries, subject only to being a citizen or permanent resident of Canada and not having entered a piece in the exhibition of any other participating country.

A primary goal of this global collaborative exhibition is to link people around the world to plants through contemporary botanical art.

The Art of the Plant exhibition opens on May 10th and will remain open until October 14, 2018 in Ottawa at the Canadian Museum of Nature. It will also be online in coordination with the other participating countries around the globe. For more details please see the Exhibition Venues page.
